For as long as I can remember, I have been attracted to vivid
colors and intricate pattern and detail. I have always been
fascinated by mosaics, quilts, kaleidoscopes, beads, and anything
else colorful and sparkly.
I grew up in Sonoma County, California, in an environment that
encouraged creativity. Our house had an “art room”
where my mother painted. In that room, full of art supplies
and found objects, my passion to create was fueled.
Prior to begining my jewelry business, I worked for ten years
as a graphic artist and technical illustrator. I quit working
to be a stay-home mom to my two children. After that, my artistic
journey took on new directions.

I took more art classes and experimented
with pastels, ceramics, quilting, mosaics, knitting, and beadwork.
In 1995 I saw some polymer clay beads made using the millefiori
technique. My jaw dropped! I HAD to know how to make them! My
nine-year-old daughter and I took a class in basic caning techniques
in polymer clay at a local bead store. The rest, as they say,
is history!
It has been my passion for color and pattern that drew me to polymer
clay as the perfect medium for my creative expression. The intensely
saturated colors and the technical detail I can achieve with polymer
clay, combined with the wonderful tactile experience of the clay
in my hands, have me hooked!
In my art, I want to convey the joy of simple, everyday things
in life, and I hope that others will experience the same delight
when they see my work.
My work has been featured in Foundations of Polymer Clay Design,
Wire in Design, and Creative Stamping in Polymer
Clay, all by Barbara A. McGuire, Krause Publications. I have
designed numerous projects and was most recently featured in Classy
Clay published by Design Originals. My designs have been
featured in pictorial articles in the San Jose Mercury News
(Jan. '02) and in the Wall Street Journal (Aug. '02).
My work can be found
in galleries and gift shops throughout the United States.
